BSI (the British Standards Institution) has joined the UK5G Innovation Network as an associate partner to support the development and roll out of 5G across UK cities.

BSI is the business improvement company that helps organizations make excellence a habit - all over the world. In the 5G arena, BSI is working with cities and communities to help them apply best practice to leverage the benefits of 5G applications and related digital services.

Bob Driver, UK5G Lead, commented: "We are delighted to have BSI’s knowledge and expertise on hand, especially as the commercial impact of 5G is coming into focus for many companies. We are exploring ways for the UK’s major cities to collaborate on 5G challenges around implementation and connectivity."

Richard Taylor, Director Standards Services, BSI, added, “5G is part of a broader digital transformation that can enable the UK to lead the world in advanced services for citizens, developing new markets, and industrial applications. 5G will advance many new opportunities for innovation, participation and productivity, with a focus on the challenges for cities, rural communities and the UK’s industrial sectors.

We are excited to be working with UK5G to help communities and market clusters across the UK to address these needs and achieve the benefits of 5G.”
