Antonella Faniuolo is a Principal Technology Advisor at Ofcom leading several projects including 5G, Internet of Things, data strategy and reporting on the status of fixed and mobile infrastructures in the UK.
She joined Ofcom in 2015 after 12 years experience in the private sector, where she held several technical, strategic and commercial roles for major infrastructure vendors.
Prior to joining Ofcom, she was responsible for wireless market analysis and business strategy in Alcatel-Lucent (now Nokia) with a focus on deployment strategies for new technologies. She also held roles in product portfolio management and 3GPP standardisation.
Prior to joining Alcatel-Lucent she worked for Siemens and NEC in various functions in R&D, system design, testing and pre-sales.
Antonella is the author of several patents in the field of wireless cellular technologies. She has a Laurea degree in Telecommunications Engineering (2002) from the University of Bologna, a Master’s degree in Radiocommunications Engineering (2003) from Alma Graduate School in Bologna, and an MBA (2011) from Oxford Brookes University.
