In this role, Peter Marshall is responsible for proactively identify how Ericsson can best meet the customer requirements to support their demands on the networks with Ericsson’s extensive portfolio of leading-edge technology, products and solutions and drive stronger engagement through targeted communications, events and supporting material.
Over the last three years Peter has developed close collaborations across Europe with operators, industry and academic partners to challenge and develop what is required to help both society and industry today and in the future. As part of this work, he leads Ericsson’s ongoing collaboration with leading UK university, King’s College London, with the aim of developing tangible use cases that will influence the roadmap and standards of 5G.
Being at the forefront of the 5G innovation, Ericsson has been working with partners for several years on 5G in labs to develop real use cases to create the right technology for real-world applications. In the last two years, Ericsson has taken these technologies into advanced field trials and recently installed an end to end 5G system at King’s College London. This system was used to successfully demonstrate the UK’s first outdoor 5G trial in London with Vodafone.
Peter joined Ericsson in 2010 from Vodafone in the UK.
Peter holds a PhD in Chemical Physics from Edinburgh University and has a wealth of telecoms experience working with both operators and vendors for over 21 years. Peter has participated in numerous joint presentations at high-profile events and has contributed to a number of white papers.
