5G In Rural Areas, a workshop

Advance Northumberland is teaming up with 5GRIT to present a workshop that will explain more about 5G and the opportunities for businesses in Northumberland to test out new applications on one of six Government-sponsored 5G testbeds.

We want to hear your ideas about what you would like to use the testbed for: – be it

  • developing augmented reality apps for tourists
  • fixed wireless broadband for not-spots
  • crop and livestock monitoring services
  • and testing new hardware or services for parts of Northumberland where mobile data is simply not up to speed.

Members of the 5GRIT consortium will explain the process of getting your technologies and applications trialled on the testbed and what the potential benefits could be.

Advance Northumberland will highlight available funding and business support to help you develop and mobilise trials on the 5G testbed.
