Following on from the work in ETSI ISG Next Generation Protocols on the problems network operators have had with the TCP/IP-based protocols used in current mobile standards, ISG Non-IP Networking (NIN) has been formed and will have its inaugural meeting on Wednesday 25th March.
NIN aims to specify a platform which, while supporting the routing of Internet traffic, is not dependent on addressing and header formats that were designed for the technology of forty years ago. Operators aim to use it first in private networks and in their core networks; when proven in those environments it can be specified for public networks also.
The meeting was to be hosted by Cambridge Consultants, developers of the Ocado Smart Platform. It will now be held on-line.
We are inviting experts in the design of the technology, as well as representatives of those who will use it, to join the group. For further details please e-mail the Convenor, John Grant mailto:email@example.com
