  • Chris Pett
    Digital Innovation Sector Lead

SETsquared wants to connect with you, so we can support you in developing strong bids for the 5G Road & Rail competition.

In particular, I am looking to connect with commercial and private network providers who want to take part in consortium bids with academic and SME partners.

SETsquared (https://setsquared.co.uk) is the SME support partnership between the Universities of Cardiff, Bristol, Bath, Exeter, Southampton and Surrey. We connect university R&D teams with startups and scale-up SMEs to accelerate market-ready innovation.

We have a very large network of technology startups, scale-up SMEs and academic researchers with expertise in communications technology and its application to the transport sector.

We have a budget to provide stimulus funding to support 5G Road & Rail bids including our member SMEs and academics from our partner universities. The stimulus fund will pay for professional bid writing support to strengthen the funding application.

If you would like to follow up, please contact Chris Pett, Digital Innovation Sector Lead at the SETsquared Scale Up Programme. My email is chris.pett@setsquared.co.uk.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Chris

  • Dear Eleanor,

We want to collaborate with other 5G partners to provide a 5G Smart Parking Solution.

Our solution itemised below, is working and ready for collaboration pilots.

    ·       We are a Google Startup.

    ·       IoT Mesh devices identify parking availability

    ·       Parking status uses 5G:NB-IoT back to IoT Gateway.

    ·       IoT Gateway hosted in Google Cloud

    ·       GCLOUD IoT Data into Firestore Database

    ·       Google Map Apps linked to User Smart Phones to identify and pay for parking in Real Time.

We will add a smart AI layer that will enable users to join up their vehicle journeys to public transport and other transport modes, this will shorten the point to point journey and encourage more sustainable modes of transport when available. We can combine parking, public and other payments all into one App and then adapt where necessary for either local partnerships or a local authority.

We can share data and availability for parking / blue badge / electric vehicle and autonomous vehicles.

We also link parking into a marketing proposal for small local businesses helping regenerate High Streets.

We are a UK owned and UK based business.

For further information please contact Kevin Lewis on 07808 060 251 or kevin@bluemeshsolutions.com
