Open Thing is an innovative CIC, based in Poole,  with a 3D printed platform which is ideal for extending air quality network coverage of formal network like DEFRA to the local needs for monitoring traffic and industrial pollution in the post-COVID-19 period. Schools and hospitals will be hot spots for community concern about the major impact of pollution on health such as traffic on schools. Modelling is used to cover the gaps in the DEFRA network, Open Thing's platform offers real-time and low-cost monitoring using the latest sensors to verify these models.
