UK5G’s mission is to Educate, Collaborate and Innovate.
5G should protect privacy as well as 4G. In other words there is nothing to indicate that privacy will be either improve or reduce when users migrate onto 5G networks. The Information Assurance considerations, and vulnerability concerns to date, for 5G have focused more on Integrity and Availability more so than Confidentiality. Whilst it is possible that the move towards a Software Defined Network and use of new as of yet untested technology in the 3GPP 5G Standard configuration may result in a change in privacy of users data, we have seen nothing to suggest that this might be the case.
