    Jaunt is a global immersive media (VR, AR, MR...) distribution technology and content creation company working with leading telcos, content companies, brands and their agencies to produce and distribute new experiences in immersive media across Sports, Music, Film, Travel and Adventure, Fashion, News etc.

    My role is to lead and manage the international operations outside the US, including the Jaunt China JV, as well as helping develop the company's global commercial, marketing and brand strategy.

    Backed by The Walt Disney Company, Evolution Media Capital (CAA) China Media Capital, Google Ventures, Sky, ProSiebenSat, Paul McCartney and others, Jaunt is expanding rapidly and working on many 5G Proof of Concept projects.

    A senior director hired to centralise and lead all digital activity across EE, Orange and T-Mobile. Built and delivered the business case, delivering a significant digital transformation programme to drive significant increases in eCommerce sales and driving customer satisfaction (NPS) and engagement improvements through best of breed digital service. Managed build of new cloud-based, SaaS infrastructure and large scale agile design and development capability.

    Hired as CEO to launch and build a new autonomous digital business for Orange / France Telecom following the JV with Deutsche Telekom - Everything Everywhere (EE).
    Brought together and built teams covering Technology, UX / CX Design, Content, Product, Marketing, Insight etc.)
    Orange Digital owned the web and mobile destinations for Orange UK and was a digital design and technology agency for EE and Orange/FT Group.

    May 2008 – Dec 2009

    Appointed to this new Executive position following the private equity Apax acquisition of 50% of TMG from Guardian Media, valuing the group at £1.35 billion. Accelerated the digital success of Autotrader by leading the transformation of the commercial strategy, technology and agile delivery, customer experience and digital platform.
    Drove digital profits to over £100m EBITDA, migrating business from competitors and print division across both B2C and B2B, including advertising, subscriptions, eCommerce and new proposition development.

    Dec 2004 – May 2008

    Launch director of Sky's Online Business Unit, bringing together the digital channels and services including, sky sports, sky news, sky movies, growing Search and eCommerce revenue 240% year on year. Grew division to 130 heads in six months.
    Responsible for digital products and services across Sky including launch of Sky Broadband, CRM integration, eCommerce, Account Management and Customer eService.

    Launch Commercial Director of Buongiorno in the UK, building one of Europe's largest email and mobile marketing and media companies. Led business development and P&L responsibility across Mobile Marketing, Mobile Content, Email Marketing and CRM, Music Marketing and Licensing and Digital Advertising Services.
    Grew team from 5 to 78, delivering large revenue growth and EBITDA profitability.

    Deputy Chair of the UK5G Creative Industries Working Group

    Dr Alex Connock is an entrepreneurial and academic specialist in digital video. He is founder of digital content creation company Missile, having previously been MD of  Endemol Shine North (2012-17) and co-founder (with Bob Geldof) and CEO of Ten Alps (1998-2011).

    He tutors the Creative Entrepreneurship Master's degree at the National Film and Television School, is entrepreneur in residence at Europe’s leading business  school INSEAD, and visiting professor at Salford University, Sunderland University and MMU.

    He has degrees from Oxford, Columbia universities and INSEAD, and a PhD from Salford. He is also a trustee of UNICEF UK and a director of the Halle Orchestra.

    Ian is a Director at Plum, bringing over 25 years of experience in industry and consulting within telecoms and technology. He is passionate on the application of emerging technologies, engineering, and innovation for the development of commercial, economic, and social value.

    He specialises in the intersects on strategy and transformation, technology, engineering, and architecture, and policy and regulation, with a particular focus towards development and delivery of practical commercial solutions, underpinned by robust analysis and proven experience.

    Ian’s work has been used by governments and regulators to inform on policy development and implementation, and by operators, vendors, investors, and law firms in regulatory, commercial, and technology strategy development and solutions delivery.

    He is particularly proficient in connecting strategy and policy with real-world engineering and technology, from the perspective of commercial players, whose motivation is often to forge innovative business models and high performance solutions quickly and efficiently, navigating or changing policy and regulation as may be required.

    Solutions delivered for clients have included development of a converged 5G-fibre architecture and commercial plan for a leading UK-based altnet, 5G spectrum review influencing national government policy for a leading UK industry body, quality review of a wholesale local access regulatory price control model for a major European regulator, c. £10m capex saving on a major IP network implementation programme for a European telco, spectrum auction valuation advice for a European mobile operator, and valuation advice to the board of a European telco on disposal of a key business arm.

    During the early part of his career, he worked in defence systems and digital mobile radio and was awarded the Bell Labs President's Prize for R&D and product development at Bell Labs NJ USA. Ian holds PhD and BSc (1st Class Hons, IET Prize) degrees in Engineering, PgD Management and Finance, UK Chartered Engineer, Fellow IET, and is Vice Chair at techUK Communications Infrastructure Council.
