An update from Peter Claydon, Director of 5G Research for Airspan.

During the first half of the AutoAir project we planned our installation at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire. Millbrook consists of 700 acres of land and 70 km of private roads that are used for testing vehicles and AutoAir is deploying a hyper-dense small cell network. We've now deployed 23 metal masts and 25 wooden telegraph poles. Power and optical fibre has now been provisioned to some of the metal masts and we're starting to deploy wireless equipment. The photos show 2.3 GHz and 3.6 GHz small cell base stations and a 60 GHz backhaul link being installed on one of the winch-down metal masts.

So, because of the timing of the project we're spending our time in muddy fields in winter rather than enjoying the sunshine!
