MWC Barcelona 2019 is just around the corner, taking place on 25 – 28 February at the Fira. As expected (and required), 5G features throughout the agenda in seminars and conference narratives.

We're pleased that a number of the delivery partners involved in the DCMS funded 5G testbed and trials projects are attending MWC Barcelona with closer involvement in the Future Networks programme, delivered by GSMAm namely:

  • AutoAir project will be exhibiting in the GSMA innovation zone (entrance of Hall 4), hosted by the above mentioned Future Network group (look out for the McLaren test sports car). 5G Innovation Centre (Surrey University) and McLaren is leading on this project, with DenseAir, Quortus and Blu Wireless also in attendance. We encourage you to swing by their demonstration area and chat with the project teams.

Head to the GSMA website for more information on the Future Networks 5G demonstrations taking place.

  • 5G Rural First project, led by Cisco and lead partner University of Strathclyde, will have a strong presence on the Cisco stand (Hall 3 Stand 3E30). Word on the grapevine is there will be a massive cow head perched high above their stand - so you shouldn't miss them!
  • Mark Stansfeld from the Worcester Phase 1 project speaking - 5G Cities: Connecting People, Here, There and Everywhere. Hall 4 Auditorium 2, Wednesday 27th Feb, 11:30 - 12:30 CET
