Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review

Report added by Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport on 23 Jul 2018
Produced by DCMS and released on Monday 23rd July this review sets out the findings of the Government's Future Telecoms Infrastructure Review.

The review comes with additional documents covering:

  1. UK Telecoms Market Dynamics
  2. Telecommunications Infrastructure International Comparisons
  3. UK Mobile Market Dynamics

It addresses key questions that could affect the evolution of the UK’s digital infrastructure such as the convergence between fixed and mobile technologies, and the transition from copper to full fibre networks.

The UK Government wants to see 15 million premises connected to full fibre by 2025, with coverage across all parts of the country by 2033, and the majority of the population to have 5G coverage by 2027.
