Welcome to the UK5G newsletter; your fortnightly update on 5G events, news and testbeds and trials.

Gartner’s infamous hype curve seems to be as resilient as ever with this year’s GSMA Barcelona event propelling 5G to the “peak of inflated expectations”. If Gartner’s model holds true, it’s now that the tough stuff starts as we roll into early deployments and find out just what 5G can and can’t do.

To help shed light on that, the 5G Realised conference in London on April 10th and 11th will take a very pragmatic and down to earth view on the issues of rolling out 5G technologies, services and applications. Firmly anchored in business and industrial use cases across a wide spectrum of sectors, 5G Realised features top executives from user industries, service providers, technology suppliers and 5G implementors plus views from standards makers, regulators and government.

5G Realised has the strong support of the both UK5G and the UK Government’s Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and will showcase demonstrations from a wide range of use cases in the UK’s 5G Tests and Trials Program (**scroll down for the showcase dates**) These practical and hands on demonstrations cover a range of cutting edge use cases across connected cars, agritech, health and social care, smart tourism, rural connectivity and next generation manufacturing.

The demonstration showcase links to a wide ranging conference featuring top speakers from government, user companies such as Bosch and Phillips; all of the UK’s mobile operators, major technology providers such as Oracle, Sigma Systems and Mycom and global consulting firms. The format is a series of plenary sessions comprising presentations, group discussions and 1-2-1 interviews focused on rapidly rolling out real-world 5G service and applications. These plenary sessions are followed by themed workshops, each based around a specific business sector, featuring 5G based applications and discussion with presenters and developers who have specialist 5G application experience.

Easy to get to at London’s Congress Centre, 28 Great Russell Street, the 2-day conference will debate, discuss and demonstrate. If you’re becoming tired of 5G hype and want to meet and hear from people with real implementation requirements and experience, 5G Realised is for you! Please use UK5G30 for 30% off tickets at checkout

We look forward to seeing you there!
