A demo event will be held in North Yorkshire as part of the Mobile Access North Yorkshire project – a £6.4million Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) – on Wednesday 15th June at The Saddle Rooms, North Yorkshire.
The event offers attendees the chance to experience a range of workshops focusing on the benefits that 5G can bring to a rural community including how it can support rural businesses such as tourism and hospitality, residents, mission critical communications within volunteer groups as well as the public sector.
You will hear from lead partners – Quickline Communications – about how they have gone about delivering and testing the network, the problems and solutions to delivering a 5G network to a very rural area as they look to deploy the network commercially.
MANY has spent the last two years working to deliver the network to a very rural area of which had until recently unreliable connectivity.
The project spent time understanding the issues that communities had, as well as listening to the different views held within the community resulting in a community engagement toolkit for other digital projects to use.
It then worked to deliver a fast and reliable open network that can be accessed outside the home delivering a new way of providing mobile phone coverage.
